Costs and specifications

Five registers, each one a table of a single fact across every model we track, each with the date it was checked and a source behind every figure. These exist because nobody else publishes them, and because a specification with a date on it is worth more six months from now than a review is.

What we could not find

We publish the gaps as prominently as the figures, because in this category the gaps are the story. Of the 4 models tracked, 3 have a published Australian price, 2 have a stated maximum cat weight, 1 have a published noise figure and 0 have a published power draw.

Open sourcing gaps:

  • CATLINK Scooper Luxury Pro X power draw in watts.
  • CATLINK Scooper Luxury Pro X noise level in decibels.
  • Where CATLINK Australia holds spare parts, and what a replacement globe or motor costs.
  • Litter-Robot 4 power draw in watts. Whisker publishes no figure and the Australian distributor does not either.
  • Litter-Robot 4 noise level in decibels. Described as 'super quiet' and 'virtually silent' with no measurement behind it.
  • Litter-Robot 4 maximum cat weight. Whisker states a 1.36kg minimum for automatic mode and no upper limit, saying only that larger cats fit physically.
  • Litter-Robot 4 waste drawer capacity in litres. Published only as internal dimensions.
  • PETKIT refill ring price and pack size in Australia. Without it the annual consumable cost cannot be calculated, and this is the only monetisable brand where that is true.
  • PETKIT Purobot Ultra power draw in watts.
  • What PETKIT Care+ costs in Australian dollars per month, and exactly which features stop working without it.
  • PetSafe ScoopFree unit price in Australia. The Australian site lists the replacement trays but not the machine on the page we checked.
  • PetSafe ScoopFree cat weight limits and entry height for the Australian model.
  • PetSafe ScoopFree Australian warranty length.
